My Document is a default folder in C drive or this is a system folder. The location of this folder looks like “C:\Documents and Settings\….\My Documents“. When operating system crashes it may effected My Document folder. It is better to change My Document folder to another drive for saving your documents. You can also check How to Change Default Download Folder Location?
THow to Change My Documents Location?
- First open Computer/My Computer. In left explore menu Right click on My Document and select Properties.
- In the properties window click on Location tab. You can see a address bar in this tab. Now click on Find Target button and choose your location where you want to change.
- After set the location click on OK button. Now you are done!
This is very simple to change the default My Document folder to another drive. This trick is tested by me in windows 7. Try this in your system.
