App in the Air For iPhone: Get Flight Or Airport Details & Chat With Other Travelers

Air travel has certainly made life a lot easier than before, but it has brought its own special brand of problems and nuisances to the mix. If you are planning to fly to an unfamiliar place, there are a lot of things that have to be taken into account even before you purchase your plane ticket. You have to remember your flight’s time, double-check the boarding pass and familiarize yourself with other airline regulations and procedures. Once you have done all that, you have to scavenge for important information regarding your destination, like names of good hotels and suitable commuting options. App in the Air is an iOS app that takes care of all that, making it your perfect flight and travel companion.

If you want to check out the app’s features and working, go to the Demo Mode offered on its front page. The demo acts as a graphical and interactive tutorial for App in the Air. If you are really about to travel, hit the button labeled Start Flight. First of all, you have to create your virtual boarding pass within the app. To do that, you can either specify your flight number, or if you don’t know that, just tell the app your destination and current location along with the time of the flight, and it will automatically find out all the potential flight options. That’s the only input App in the Air requires from its users, and everything else is computed automatically by the app. The main flight page has countdown timers for time remaining in check-in, boarding, takeoff and landing. Your flight’s expected path is also shown on the main map. If you make an in-app purchase worth $0.99, App in the Air will send you push notifications and text messages whenever a flight-related deadline is approaching.

Another useful feature offered by App in the Air is its destination tips. You can view all the details of your flight’s destination even before landing there. The destination page lists the location’s temperature, weather conditions and map. At the bottom of the screen, you can view the value of the destination’s currency compared to your local one. However, the best part of this section is the user-submitted tips. You can sort these tips into different categories to get the most out of other people’s experiences.
Even if you don’t make the in-app purchase, App in the Air is good enough to merit a download for frequent fliers. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, and can be downloaded for free from the link below.

  2. Hi this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
