Popular Collage Maker ‘PicCollage’ Released For Android
Developed by Cardinal Blue Software, PicCollage is a collage maker that is revered for its simplicity and plethora of features. Using its various tools, users can create beautiful collages out of their device, camera, Facebook and web photos, and share their masterpieces with the entire world. In addition, the app is laced with a variety of background templates, easy to use multi-touch gestures to maneuver images, and extended photo sharing features. The app also integrates Aviary’s photo editor plugin to help you enhance and embellish your photos before placing them on the canvas. Initially available only to iOS users, the app has just been released to the Google Play Store. Continue reading past the break to learn how this app works.
Photo collage creators are nothing new to smartphones, but there are a few candidates that you just cannot afford to let pass by without giving a try. PicCollage is certainly one of them. Even though the app is extremely simple to use, should you still fall into some trouble getting grip over its controls, there is adequate helpful material to alleviate your concerns.
Getting started with things is quite simple, too. Once you’re on to the new collage screen, you can use the camera button to start filling the canvas with the required images. Alternatively, you may use the following gestures:
Hold down on the canvas to select a different background
Tap anywhere on the canvas to import an image from one of the supported local and/or online sources
Hold down on an image to send it behind all other images. Tapping such images brings them to the front.
Flick the image to remove it from the scene (this action can be undone)
Resize images using the pinch-to-zoom gesture
Use multi-touch to rotate and move the image on the canvas
Double tap an image to start editing it through the Aviary photo editor plugin
Once you’re done with designing your collage, you may share it with your buddies right from within the editor, or press the back button to save it to your device. All custom-created collages appear on the app’s homescreen. The star icon at the top lets you browse the latest collages shared on the Pic Collage network, whereas the settings button can be used to affiliate the app with your Facebook/Twitter account, and set the preferred collage resolution.
Apparently, the Android variant of Pic Collage is equipped with the almost the same set of features as its iOS counterpart. However, several exciting features, such as shake-to-straighten photos and image clipping are currently missing from the mix. Even then, Pic Collage certainly deserves a try for its all-round collage designing and sharing capabilities.
PicCollage is available in the Google Play Store for free, and requires Android v2.3.3 (Gingerbread) or higher to run. Grab the app via the link or QR code provided below.
