doctape Viewer Opens All Popular File Formats From The Cloud On iOS

Files App and File Manager App are just two examples of the kind of file viewers iOS can offer. By default, it is not possible to open a lot of files on your iPhone, but there are a bunch of apps that can help you in different situations for certain kind of documents or media formats. With the newly releaseddoctape Viewer, however, you might not need multiple apps to open a lot of files from various sources. Not only is the app capable of tapping into several popular cloud storage and file sharing services, it also comes with a lengthy file format compatibility list. If the name doctape sounds familiar to you, it’s because the app has been released by a desktop file management service that has been around for quite some time...

Using doctape Viewer is pretty easy, and maybe this is why the app comes with only a single welcome page, containing some very basic instructions. To get started, you don’t need to sign into your doctape account, as the app relies on other services to pull files. Hit the ‘+’ icon in the top-right corner and choose a source from where you want to import files. Most of the listed services are cloud-based, but you can also import media from the camera roll of your device, or from sources like Instagram, Facebook, and Google Images. Depending upon your file source choice, doctape Viewer displays all the files in the form of a gallery or a complete list, from where it is easy to choose ones that you want to save to your device. In order to transfer files that are saved locally on your computer, use iTunes and import files to the app via your USB cable.

doctape Viewer shows some of the basic files like photos, videos, and text documents without any conversion, but other items have to be uploaded to the doctape server before you get to open them on your iPhone. If you are not a pro user of the app, a maximum of two files can be converted each day. For removing this limitation, a one-time in-app purchase of 99 cents is required.
doctape Viewer is a free app, and pretty useful even in its lite version. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch at present, and can be found at the download link provided below.
