Lava E-Tab Z7H runs on Android 4.0.3 ice cream sandwich and is powered by 1.2GHz processor. We are quite amazed to see Android 4.0.3 running on this budget tablet since many manufacturers are still struggling to brings it on their tablets.

Lava is surely new to the in the Tablet market but their latest product called Lava E-Tab Z7H is pretty nice. It runs on Android 4.0.3 ice cream sandwich and is powered by 1.2GHz processor. We are quite amazed to see Android 4.0.3 running on this budget tablet since many manufacturers are still struggling to brings it on their tablets.

HARDWARE

Hardware:  

Lava E-Tab Z7H is one of the budget tablet which offers sophisticated user experience with its 1.2GHz processor (cortex A8) and 512MB RAM. 7 inch multi-touch screen display has the resolution of 800×480 pixels. Screen brightness is not so good and you will find yourself struggling in day sunlight(tiny grains are visible when viewing it constantly). Touch response is super good and there are absolutely no lags in playing a HD video. The tablet is well supported by Mali 4003D graphics. There were some hiccups while connecting a Tata photon initially(maybe it was only with us). Lava E-Tab Z7H has 4GB of internal storage memory and if you think that is not what you want they you can certainly expand it up to 32Gb via Micro SD card. There is no SIM support for this tablet and 3G only works with 3G dongle(no matter whichever you use). If you don’t have 3G dongle, you can make use of WiFi. There is no GPS/A GPS support for this device.

SOFTWARE

Software:  

Well, Lava E-Tab Z7H is preloaded with number of applications which ensures that you don’t get bored. They include twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TOI and Nimbuzz. Wait. This is not the end. About 10HD videos and movies are there to entertain you all the time. These additional features including healthy set of preloaded apps makes it a good choice. Lava E-Tab Z7H supports full HD video playback. Below are the supported video and audio formats.

Video Formats Supported: AVI, MP4, VOB, MPEG4, FLV, 3GP, H.264, H.263, DivX, Xvid, WMV, MKV

Audio Formats Supported: MP3, FLAC, WAV, WMA

CAMERA

Camera:  

Lava E-tab Z7H supports 0.3MP front facing camera which can be used for video calling with number of 3rd party applications like Skype. Sadly, there is no primary/rear camera in the tablet but it may not bother to those who don’t need it. Afterall, Nexus 7 is also missing a rear camera.

BATTERY

Battery:  

Lava E-tab Z7H is powered by 2800mAh battery which gives about 5hours of battery life. Battery dramatically falls down when playing games continuously for one hour or even when there is a huge list of apps running in the background. Overall, not a good experience with the battery.

CONS

• Brightness is not good
• Device gets heat up frequently
• No SIM slot

CONCLUSION

It’s a good tablet to go for considering the fact that it does not support SIM slot. This tablet has good potentials and can compete with the tablets lying around with the price between Rs 10k-15k.
